Brief History

In 1958, I accepted salvation in a Nazarene Church and have been a Christian ever since.

After graduating high school, went to college, and married 2 times (see about page). I strayed from Christianity, not reading my Bible, but I was praying. I was also trying to help others as much as I could.

Unfortunately, I charged it to use it while paying for it. While I worked, this was not a problem.

Even though I was not putting God first, he was extremely good to me. He helped with finances at difficult times, sent a fantastic woman to be my first wife, and sent a second fantastic woman after my first wife died.

Retirement

After I retired and many errors in judgment, I was short of money and did not have the same amount of money coming in as I did when I was working. So, I tried to cut bills as much as possible. However, no matter how I tried, I was underwater with finances. In addition, the poor decisions I made caused us to incur significant debt. My wife started watching 2 little girls to supplement our income.

Once again, I shifted money to 0 interest accounts to keep everyone paid. After all, I had a math degree, so I should be able to handle the finances, but I was not. I made it worse. I signed up for a debt reduction plan because I had overused 4 accounts. They indicated that Form 982 would make it so that I wouldn’t have to pay taxes on the money they reduced my accounts with.

While working on Form 982, I received a Bible from my daughter for my birthday. It was a large print Bible I could read easily. While browsing through Pinterest, I found an article about tithing. I had never tithed in my life because I was already short and never put that first. BIG MISTAKE. I started tithing and God made it possible to almost eliminate my debt except for my mortgage.

How God rescued me financially.

However, the form was to determine insolvency, but when I started completing it at tax time, I discovered I had too much equity in my home and had to pay taxes. Fortunately, I had a large sum of money available just 25 days before the tax deadline, allowing you to pay your taxes on time. Thank you, God.

After talking to a financial professional for the first time, we both decided that I should refinance my home. With the help of God, because of many setbacks during the refinance process, I refinanced my home.

I paid off the 2 remaining accounts by refinancing my home, which made it so that I had no significant bills except my mortgage. Thanks to My God for all He has done for me.
